Lothian Junior Chess are pleased to host the 2026 UK Chess Challenge Scottish Gigafinal in Edinburgh. The Gigafinal is the next stage of the UK Chess Challenge competition and is open to players who have qualified through a Megafinal.

Venue: Broughton High School, 9 East Fettes Avenue, Edinburgh, EH4 1EG

Eligibility: Players must have qualified from a Megafinal. Competitors may enter one, two, three or all four Gigafinals across the UK, but may only compete in their allocated age category (U8, U10, U12, U14 or U18).

Qualification:
• Top boy and top girl in each age category qualify directly for the Terafinal.
• Players scoring 5 points or more qualify for the Challengers.

Time Control: 15 minutes plus 10 seconds increment per move
